In recent months, Stannah Stairlifts Inc. has seen a sharp increase in demand, as our customers choose to stay at home and avoid high-density senior housing. Today, we’re proud to announce further expansion with the purchase of Interstate Lift Inc. in Philadelphia. This follows the opening of our New Jersey location earlier this month and the purchase of one of our Californian distributors (Acme Home Elevator) in 2018.
Interstate Lift was an early pioneer in the practice of remote selling, a strategic advantage during this year’s pandemic. Founded in 1983 by David Kzirian, Interstate has been Stannah’s exclusive dealer in Philadelphia for nearly 20 years and has over 10,000 customers in the Greater Delaware Valley.
David’s daughter, Melanie Kzirian, now manages the business and will stay on after Stannah’s purchase. Melanie has spent most of her career working with the senior market, after initial training as an audiologist.
Interstate Lift Inc. provides service to a large territory, covering greater Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. This acquisition supports Stannah’s strategic growth plan to extend its direct sales footprint into new regions when the opportunity arises. It also builds on the company’s recent expansion, establishing a contiguous direct sales territory from Massachusetts’ North Shore to Southern New Jersey.
